Suspect arrested after stabbing in downtown Redding, schools placed on lockdown

Police said a suspect has been arrested in connection to a stabbing that took place near Cypress Avenue and Pine Street in Downtown Redding on Tuesday morning.

A man has been arrested for a reported stabbing in downtown Redding on Tuesday morning, police confirmed.

Residents are currently being asked to avoid the area of Cypress Avenue and Pine Street while police investigate.

RPD Chief Brian Barner confirmed the stabbing suspect has been arrested. Further details are still being confirmed.

Sequoia Middle School said they are currently under neighborhood lockdown due to the incident.
